TOPLITE® matrix displays, basic information

A TOPLITE® matrix display consists of separate modules, which allows us to make the display any size desired. The matrix display can be a simple one-row text display or it may have several rows, in which one can present graphics and different sizes of text.

On these web pages, matrix displays of the Indora®/Toplite® product family are presented briefly, including typical examples of delivered solutions.

Please contact Digitekno for more detailed information on the products (dimensions, electrical characteristics, connection interfaces, etc.).

Display size classification (more info through the links below or through the menu on the left):

type module size, mm
> ILMO-S 100 x 100
> ILMO-M 160 x 160
> ILMO-L 320 x 320
> ILMO-XL 640 x 640

TOPLITE® lamp colour can be red, yellow, green, orange, blue or white. Lamp brightness starts from 300 millicandelas and reaches to several candelas, which gives an excellent visibility also in a daylight.

The control method for the lamps is "active matrix", which means that every lamp (or a pixel made of several lamps) has its own control transistor. This method makes the display flicker free. It is possible to switch on/off every pixel separately from the others, which allows full animated graphics and various text effects.

Control of the display is done through a PC. The display board is connected to PC’s serial port with a thin cable. One-row boards can be equipped with their own memory, which frees the computer for other usage after data has been downloaded to the display. Bigger boards are controlled constantly by the computer.

With the help of a connection block a precise temperature sensor and a DCF antenna can be attached to the system to get an exact time by radio signal from an atom clock situated in Germany.

New!
Now all TOPLITE® matrix displays have a brightness adjustment as a standard. For older M-models not containing this adjustment feature, it is available as an update. Brightness adjustment allows automatic darkening of the display in dim lighting conditions and nifty effects where text / graphics is appearing on the screen by brightening and disappears by darkening.
