Digitekno Oy - history |
- Digitekno Oy was founded in 1972. In the early years the manufacturing was mainly concentrated in electronic instruments for wind speed measuring and electronics used in car racing.
- In 1982 the company began manufacturing of electronic instruments for pulp and paper industry, such as pulp density meters and roller measuring instruments.
- In 1987 the company expanded into ship electronics business by purchasing that business branch of the company Raute Oy. Then the manufacturing was mainly divided into ship electronics and machinery electronics.
- Display electronics designing and manufacturing were initiated in the early 1990's. The whole decade was a period of strong expansion for the company.
- In 1998 the company was re-structured as a joint-stock company. The first version of the company internet homepage was published.
- In the beginning of 1999 Digitekno Oy moved into new and larger premises in Nummela.
- The company smoothly shifted into the new millennium by working diligently and by enjoying an even, steady growth.
- During the year 2001 our deliveries of display products increased remarkably. As an example, gasoline price displays were delivered to almost all gasoline distributor chains present in Finland and owned by various oil companies. Additionally, the same price displays were delivered to "Neste" branded gasoline distributor chains operating in Poland and in the Baltic countries.
- In the beginning of the new millennium, sports scoreboard deliveries increased remarkably as well, as a result of several new model introductions in this product range. For example, the DT-SPORT scoreboard series suitable for various team ball games was developed.
- In 2007 Digitekno Oy acquired the business of Indora Oy, a company specialized in LED-displays. This acquisition
completed our display product range by Indora and Toplite® display products.
